BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Position summary We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with expertise in the sales of food ingredients. You will be responsible for strengthening the company’s commercial position within the food ingredients market, with a specific focus on sales activities related to toll blending. The role combines strategic business development, relationship management, sales analysis, and the operational management of the sales department. You are a self-starter with a hands-on mentality, capable of contributing both strategically and operationally. Commercial strategist with a specific focus on toll blending Role
  • Responsible for developing and executing a strategy to fully capitalize on new commercial opportunities in food ingredients, with a focus on toll blending, driving revenue growth and a strong market position
  • Leading and supporting the sales department, while overseeing order processing and customer communication
  • Maintaining and strengthening long-term customer relationships, identifying customer needs, and translating these into opportunities and product development initiatives
  • Optimizing commercial processes and internal collaboration
  • Analyzing sales data and market trends, preparing commercial reports, and providing input for sales meetings
  • Contributing to the further professionalization and structuring of the commercial organization, with the prospect of taking over full commercial responsibility from the Managing Director in the future
  • Collaborating with R&D, Technical Sales, Procurement, and Operations; reporting directly to the Managing Director
 Profile
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level of thinking and working (HBO/WO), preferably in a commercial, business, or food-related field
  • Extensive experience in business development and/or sales management within the food or ingredients sector
  • Proven experience in developing B2B customer relationships and entering new markets or product categories
  • Combines strong commercial and strategic insight with a results-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership capabilities and experience managing teams
  • Personal traits: results-oriented, entrepreneurial, coaching, analytical, connecting, decisive, pragmatic, and reliable
